Are these the Skinwalker Ranch files?
The Utah Ranch report collects interviews, photographs of samples, witness drawings, sensor observations, and plans for further work. Its most striking passages describe dog-like bipeds, small hairy figures, unusual lights, and a supposed portal. These are accounts preserved in a contractor’s investigation; publication does not verify their explanations.
The file is associated in public reporting with Skinwalker Ranch in Utah. The ranch name is redacted in the released document. Read the identification context ↗

Creature accounts
Recorded descriptions and estimated sizes, rather than verified species.
BAASS personnel visited the Fort Duchesne area on March 22–26 and April 19–23, 2010. Their stated goals included gathering detailed accounts and looking for physical evidence. Seven digital game cameras were placed on the ranch and a nearby property, with a protocol to secure their memory cards weekly.
The abstract says more than 25 people had been interviewed by May 7, 2010. The group included local residents, police officers, ranchers, and business owners. The descriptions span different locations and times, including recollections many years older than the field visits. Witness totals do not turn recollections into instrumentally verified observations.
The abstract groups reports of upright dog- or wolf-like creatures, small hairy figures with long arms, large worm-like forms, and a prehistoric-looking bird. Some witnesses estimated the bipeds at six to seven feet tall. Those measurements are estimates reported in interviews.
A witness described a clear, stationary, rippling wall seen in the afternoon roughly twenty years before the interview. She interpreted it as a portal. Other interviews describe colored balls of light and sounds. Recording that interpretation does not establish a doorway to another world. Read the portal interview details and limits.

03 / METHODS & LIMITS
The investigation was broader than the stories.
Measurements still needed interpretation
The report lists electromagnetic surveys, radiation measurements, and soil analysis among its aims. It records signals around 1.2 GHz and explicitly calls for further work on possible satellite frequencies and timing. An unexplained reading in a report is not a confirmed anomalous source.
Sections on plants as biosensors describe approaches for studying environmental effects. Readers should distinguish proposed methods from completed experiments and independently replicated results.
The report extrapolates straight lines from reported creature movements and suggests possible observation locations. It acknowledges that the resulting intersections could be arbitrary because the alleged creatures could have changed direction after leaving view.
March 22–26, 2010First field deployment listed on the report cover.
April 19–23, 2010Second listed field deployment.
May 2010The file includes a May 7 interview tally and May laboratory correspondence.

Utah Ranch files FAQ
What are the Utah Ranch files?
The phrase commonly refers to DOW-UAP-D174, the Utah Ranch Investigation Report, April 2010. It is a BAASS contractor report about field visits, witness accounts, measurements, and proposed experiments at and around a Utah property.
When were the Utah Ranch files released?
The report was included in PURSUE Release 07 on October 23, 2026. The underlying fieldwork occurred in March and April 2010. The release date and the dates of the reported events are different.
Are these the Skinwalker Ranch files?
The 2010 Utah ranch report is widely discussed in connection with Skinwalker Ranch. The public file redacts the ranch name. This guide preserves that distinction instead of treating the popular identification as an unredacted statement in the document.
Did the government confirm that the creatures or portals are real?
No. Publishing a contractor report establishes that those accounts were recorded. It does not establish that the reported creatures, portals, or supernatural explanations are real.
What did the hair sample tests show?
The appendix identifies canine sequences in three samples, including a control. BAASS interpreted the unknown fence hairs as likely coming from the same dog as the control, without claiming absolute certainty. A separate hair from a stained rock was identified as raccoon.
Are the realistic creature images real photographs?
No. Every realistic creature image on this site is an artist’s rendition based loosely on reported descriptions. Anatomical details, lighting, and setting are imagined. The images are not photographs, official evidence, or verified depictions.
